Scanning Model Comparison for Quality Control

To compare a 3D scan to a physical object using the EinScan Pro HD, you would use the EXScan Pro software which comes with the scanner; this software allows you to overlay the scanned 3D model onto a live camera view of the physical object, enabling direct visual comparison and measurement verification.

Key points about using EXScan Pro for comparison:

  • Alignment tools: The software includes alignment features like marker-based or feature-based alignment to ensure the scanned model is accurately positioned relative to the real object.
  • Live preview mode: You can activate a live camera feed within the software and overlay the 3D scan on top of the live view to see how well the scan matches the physical object.
  • Measurement tools: EXScan Pro provides various measurement tools to compare specific dimensions between the scan and the physical object.

How to use it:

  1. Scan the object: Use the EinScan Pro HD to scan the object in the desired mode (fixed scan or handheld).
  2. Import the scan: Load the scanned 3D model into the EXScan Pro software.
  3. Activate live view: Access the live camera preview function within the software.
  4. Align the scan: Use the alignment tools to precisely position the scanned model to match the physical object.
  5. Compare visually: Observe the overlay of the 3D model on the live camera view to identify any discrepancies between the scan and the physical object.

[1] Volumetric accuracy refers to the relationship between 3D data accuracy and object size; the accuracy is reduced by 0.3mm per 100cm.
[2] Select this alignment when scanning objects with rich geometrical features on the surface.
[3] Hybrid alignment means marker alignment and feature alignment can be switched automatically.
[4] This alignment needs Color Pack assisting, and requires rich color texture information on the surface of the object.
* The Industrial and Color Packs are separate, optional purchases not included with the standard purchase of the EinScan Pro HD.
